Poetry Market 2013

Events are completely free.

LITERARY EVENTS IN PARIS

From the 6-9 June 2013, the Marché de la Poésie invites you to the pretty square outside the Sainte Suplice church, 75006, where there'll be over 500 poetry publishers and revues for you to check out. Poetry only accounts for 0.2% of bookshop sales, so this event is to drum up publicity for the poor poem.

For this 31st edition, they've chosen to focus on Irish poetry. Writers such as Seamus Heaney, Eavan Boland, Ciaran Carson,  Biddy Jenkinson, Maighread Medbh, Paula Meehan, and John Montague will be performing around Paris. Most writers will be onstage at Saint Suplice but some are reading elsewhere. Seamus Heaney, for example, will be reading at the lovely Irish Cultural Centre on June 13th. It's all For FREE...

Irish Cultural Centre: Just send an email to azuddas@centreculturelirlandais.com to reserve tickets, or call 01 58 52 10 30

Highlights include

Thursday 6 June, 19h: Poésies en concert

Friday 7 + Sat 8 June, from 18h30: Poésie et concert irlandais
