Shakespeare's Garden in Paris

Hello!

I'm starting to miss my own language, so imagine how excited I was when I read about this in Paris....!

tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in everything

Opened in 1953, the Jardin de Shakespeare is situated just within the Bois de Boulogne, in the Pré-Catalan gardens, and is composed of 5 green spaces, each with its own theme: A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, Macbeth, Hamlet and As You Like It. Each space has been horticulurally designed to represent the play it is named after. The trickling fountain reminds visitors of Ophelia's suicide, and the Forest of Arden from As You Like It is reinterpreted towards the entrance with towering plantations.

During the summer months, the gardens feature outdoor performances, not only limited to Shakespeare's work. This year, productions are ongoing until October 2nd, and are not limited to performances in English.
