A particular favourite is the recent entry, a Youtube music video: a far cry from the Edith Piaf and accordion playing that we all associate with the grands boulevards and Haussmanian architecture that gives the city its unique cultural identity. Made me laugh a bit, as French rap is normally preoccupied with sex and violence (my impression), and to see an afro-gansta spitting out his love for the Eiffel Tower seems like a juxtaposition. Although this says more about my preconceptions than anything else.
