Lend me your ears

When the nights are a-drawin' in, fires are stoked, and you start wearing tights and a pair of socks to bed (no? Just me then...), it sometimes happens that your taste in music experiences a similar seasonal change. Where, for example in Spring I was all about Elvis Costello and the Attractions, in Autumn I migrated towards the warmer climate of The Gaslight Anthem. Now, in Winter, I am snuggling into more classical tunes (ignoring the unexpected obsession with OKGO), and Vivaldi has once again made it onto my Sunday house-cleaning/recovery day playlist.

With this in mind, I would sell my hair-straighteners to get tickets to the Palais Garnier to go to the the National Opera. I cannot imagine anything nicer than being cosy and warm, listening to beautiful music (Bedrich SMETANA, La Fiancée vendue looks to be really good this Friday), then going out aferwards for a vin chaud. Yummmmmm...
